DONICA LYNN  was named Chicago Person of the Year Theatre, Time Out Chicago Award winner, Black Theatre Award winner, African American Arts Alliance Award nominee, Broadwayworld.com nominee, & five time Jeff Award nominee with two wins (Best Actress *Effie* Dreamgirls; Best Supporting Actress  *Oda Mae*  Ghost) Chicago credits include: The Goodman, Court Theater, Congo Square, The Mercury Theater, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Porchlight Music Theatre, Victory Gardens to name a few. A vocalist for 30yrs and alumni member of Walt Whitman and the Soul Children of Chicago, she's toured the world with two of her own #1 house singles "Keep Rockin" & "Shout", as well as lending studio,  or background vocals for artists ranging from Mariah Carey, New Kids on The Block, Natalie Cole, to Ramsey Lewis'. Donica writes, assistant directs, stage manages, and is an artistic educator. This wife, mother of three, grandma of one is a two time brain tumor survivor and has been fighting a third since 2010.
