The Chicagoland Theatre Fund presents for a limited special engagement at the historic Arcada Theatre, a revamped, Broadway-scaled, new staging of the musical theatre classic, Children of Eden. With book and score respectively provided by musical theatre greats, John Caird and Stephen Schwartz, Children of Eden, freely based on the Biblical book of genesis, explores the age old relationship between parent and child and celebrates the beauty of family and the human spirit. This spectacle production, mounted in conjunction with an A-list artistic team is sure to be the production theatre fans have been waiting for.
Set against the garden of Eden, Children of Eden begins by peering into the life of Adam and Eve, and spans through the story of Noah and the flood. With numerous hit songs from the composer who brought you the Broadway musical Wicked, including, "Spark of Creation", "Lost in the Wilderness", "Ain't it Good", and more, this production, featuring a cast of over 50 Broadway and Chicago theatre veterans, is one any Chicagoan or theatre fan does not want to miss!
Scheduled to run a limited engagement in August 2020, the fully staged production will be led by an award-winning Chicago roster, including: Brenda Didier (Director/Choreographer); Christopher Carter (Co-Choregrapher); and Jermaine Hill (Music Director). Children of Eden will be produced through a special arrangement with Onesti Entertainment and the Chicagoland Theatre Fund, an impact-styled fund dedicated to the region’s performing arts. Casting and other artistic team members to be announced soon.
