CHILDREN OF EDEN is now accepting video submissions for all tracks. Both non-equity and equity members are encouraged to submit video submissions by September 5, 2022, to ctfcasting@gmail.com.
The staged concert availability ask would be: 8/29/22-10/15/22.
Dates of the full production are to be finalized; however, general required availability would be September and October of 2023. The email subject line for submissions should read as follows: "First Name Last Name: Role, Union Status" (e.g. John Smith: Cain/Japheth, Non-Union; or Jane Doe: Yonah, AEA).
Email should include headshot, resume, and video link. Please note in the body of the email whether or not you will require Chicago or New York accommodations be provided, or both.
Freely based on the Biblical book of Genesis, Children of Eden, with book and score by John Caird (Les Mis, Nicholas Nickelby) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Disney's Pocahontas), respectively, provides a unique telling of the story of creation through the epic of Noah and the flood. The concert production will be spearheaded by Derek Van Barham (Director), Nicholas Ranauro (Choreographer), and Kyle Hass (Artistic Producer). The production will be produced through a special arrangement between the Chicagoland Theatre Fund and Onesti Entertainment.

Father (Standby)
An older looking, impressive man. A true father figure, he wants the best for all of his children but parents with a firm hand. Protective, loving, and reminiscent of God.

Adam / Noah (Standby)
Adam: Eve's bright and childlike partner. He is initially devout to Father and loving to his wife & children. Later plagued by guilt. Hard-working and reserved. Noah: rough but simple. He is unsophisticated and shrewd, but also warm and loyal. He builds the ark to save his family and honor Father.

Eve / Mama (Standby)
Eve: curious and questioning, smart and excited. Chose an imperfect life of knowledge over a perfect life of innocence. Mama: Noah's wife and inherently motherly. She possesses a gentle strength, is reassuring, and serves as the mediator of the family.

Cain / Japheth (Standby)
Cain: Abel's older, adventurous brother. Follows in his mother's footsteps and longs for the companionship of other humans. He is strong, stubborn, and independent. Japeth: in love with Yonah and is willing to sacrifice his life to be with her. He is Noah's youngest son. Clever, rebellious, stubborn.

Abel / Ham (Standby)
Abel: Cain's younger and more conservative brother who follows the "rules". He chooses his parents over Cain. Ham: Japeth's middle brother and Aphra's husband. He is not as docile as Japheth, nor as hot headed as Shem. Looks up to and follows Shem's lead.

Yonah (Standby)
Noah's servant who falls in love with Japheth and becomes his wife. A descendent of Cain. She is strong, yet humble, kind, and smart.

The older of the two brothers. Is curious and questioning like his mother. Intense.

Storytellers
The ever present Chorus of the production. They are comprised of boys & girls, men & women. They represent many ages, colors, sizes and shapes. They are the largest part of the production. Seeking strong vocalists and dancers. Submission should include 16 bars of a musical theatre piece, showcasing vocal range.
